Case # 1 Protein Immobilization

The MicroSIA system, furnished with Lab-on-valve module, mounted on a six position valve, and equipped with 600μm quartz optical fibers, is a platform for the monitoring of protein immobilization, taking place in a well-stirred micro reactor. The change of the absorbance of the beads during the immobilization process is monitored by an Ocean Optics Spectrophotometer using a deuterium lamp as the UV light source. The syringe volume was 2mL and the holding coil was 1 m of 0.8mm ID Teflon tubing.
